Age 87 of Oxford, MI passed away peacefully on June 8, 2009. She was born July 7, 1921, to Monroe Dunlap and Ethyl Cowan Dunlap. She was the beloved wife of the late Dale McFarland. They were married February 22, 1945. She is survived by her sister, Arlene Spezia of Davison and many nieces and nephews. Margaret was a life-long resident of Oxford most recently at Independence Village where she enjoyed her role as the ‘Bingo Banker’ and retired from the Oxford Bank in 1972 after 30 years of employment. She served on the Bank Board of Directors for and additional 10 years. Margaret was a member of the Oxford United Methodist Church and also the NE Oakland Historical Society.
Friends may visit Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors Bossardet Chapel, 39 W. Burdick, Oxford Sunday, June 14 from 2-8 PM. Funeral services will be held at the Oxford United Methodist Church 21 E. Burdick St., Oxford Monday June 15 at 11 AM with Pastor Douglas McMunn officiating. Interment at Ridgelawn Cemetery, Oxford. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Oxford United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice.
