William Lyle Fenner, age 89 of Metamora, May 28, 1925-July 16, 2014. Bill joined the Marine Corp when he was just 17 and served in the Pacific during World War II. He was a tool maker by trade who had many hobbies which included building furniture, flying and fixing anything. A devout family man, he is survived by his wife Dawn, daughters Londa and Vicki, son Jim, as well as by 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will gather Sunday, July 20, 2014 at the Hamlin Pub, 55076 Van Dyke, Shelby Township (25 mile and Van Dyke) from 3-6 PM. A military service with full honors will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd, Holly, MI 48442, on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 10:30 AM (for those who plan to attend, suggested arrival time at the cemetery is 10:15 AM). Memorials in honor of William may be made to McLaren Hospice.
