Longtime Oxford resident and retired Dentist, Dr. Wallace Lee, 87, died April 3rd, 2017 following a long illness. Wallace is predeceased by his parents, Wallace Earl (Doc) and Mayme Lee; his sisters, Mary Anne Stafford and Carol Lee. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Sue Lee, Daughters Christy Ball (Mike), Cindy Nicolette (Alan), Connie McCrumb (Greg), Cherrie Lijewski (Gary) and Son Craig Lee (Darlene); 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Wally was born and raised in Pontiac MI. He graduated from Oxford High School in 1948. After high school, Wally attended Alma College and finished his degree at the University of Maryland. He did his military service from 1951 to 1953 where he was trained as a Pharmacist. He married the love of his life, Sue Chamberlin in March of 1951. He received his doctorate in Dentistry in 1959 and they returned to Oxford to begin his dental career in Pontiac MI.
Wally loved to live life to the fullest. He enjoyed skiing, diving, golfing, coin collecting, hunting, fishing, traveling with his family, property development and sporting events of all kinds. He was one of the leading authorities in the field of obsolete paper money for the state of Michigan, and wrote a well-known book on the topic. He was so proud of his five children, and loved to spend time with all of them. But most of all, he loved to spend time with his dear Suzy.
Funeral from the Immanuel Congregational Church, 1 Hovey Street, Oxford, on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 11 AM. Visitation will take place at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors, 39 W. Burdick, Oxford, on Friday, April 7th from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Seasons Hospice Foundation; 8537 Solution Center, Chicago, IL 60677
