Obituary for Thomas Peloquin

Thomas B. (Tom) Peloquin of Oxford, MI went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 18th, 2021, at the age of 64.

Born on May 27th, 1957 to Arthur and Alida Peloquin in Chicopee, MA, he was the oldest of three brothers.

He graduated from Cathedral High School in Springfield, MA in 1975. In 1979, he graduated summa cum laude from the University of Bridgeport with a B.S. in Industrial Design. Motivated by a lifelong dream of designing cars, he moved to Detroit and began his career at General Motors, where he used his artistic talent as a Creative Designer for 42 years.

He came to faith in Christ in 1980, and married the love of his life, Betsy, in August of 1986. Together they shared 35 years and raised ten children.

Tom cared selflessly for his family as a faithful husband and loving father. He was loyal to his friends. He was fascinated by trivia on many topics, appreciated music and film, and was great at remembering dates and facts. He loved telling stories, talking cars, and he enjoyed reading a variety of topics and listening to sermons. He self-renovated most of his home and always dreamed of fixing up his project car, a 1974 Pontiac Firebird. He was always eager to share a pot of coffee with anyone who entered his home. He was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Oxford and served there as a deacon.

He is survived by his wife, Betsy, and ten children, David, Nathan (Amy), Rachel, Rebekah (Michael) Roskelley, Susanna, Monica (Jesse) Sewell, Joseph, Laura, Alyssa, and Angela; seven grandchildren and two brothers, Charles (Susan), and Douglas (Yvonne). He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Alida.

A Memorial Service will take place Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 11 am at the First Baptist Church of Oxford, 150 Pontiac Street.
