Obituary for Thomas Bradley Bartholomew

Thomas Bradley Bartholomew, age 64 of Metamora, born May 10, 1946 and died October 4, 2010 after a courageous struggle with pancreatic cancer.

He is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Beth) Ann Bartholomew (Lombardo) and daughter Jennifer Ann Bartholomew; his father Dale Edison Bartholomew, a brother David Lynn Bartholomew, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Elizabeth Jean Bartholomew.

Tom graduated from Pontiac Central High School, Lawrence Tech, Walsh College, George Washington University, and earned his Project Management Professional certification from PMI. He worked in the automotive industry for over 40 years and was retired from General Motors. During his long career in the automotive industry, he garnered four U.S. patents, worked on the development of the Hummer H2, GM Volt, ’07 Chevy Camaro, and the chassis design of the world-famous Delorean featured in the Hollywood film Back to the Future and it’s sequels. In 2001 Tom was a Boss Kettering Award Recipient. He was also a board member of Gallery 194 in Lapeer, Mi., as well as a course instructor for Project Management at Baker College in Owosso and Mott College Adult Education in Lapeer.
Tom enjoyed classic cars, fishing, Thoroughbred horses, good friends, and riding his tractor on his small farm.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
