William Albert Biebuyck Sr., proud Oxford resident, passed away Sunday morning, May 2, 2010. He was surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren. Born November 23, 1929 he was a long time Oxford resident and businessman. Metal Spinning since the age of 17, he was the proprietor of A.K. Mielke Metal Spinning for 54 years. Bill was able to work alongside his brother and children throughout his career. He closed down his shop and “endured” 3 months of retirement before passing away at the age of 80. The past few days have been filled with memories of a man who loved his family and worked hard. He enjoyed visiting with those he loved, remembered by them as a man who watched Westerns, played a mean game of Euchre and sent his grandkids home full of gummi bears, Lays potato chips and orange pop. Even after 60 years of marriage you could find Bill and Dolores at St. Joseph or Domincan Catholic Church every Sunday and enjoying dinner at the Oxford Big Boy or the Nugget several times a week. He lived his life to the fullest, loved his family and contributed to the community. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him, but his memory will be carried on. Survived by his beloved wife Dolores; his loving children Rebecca (Mark) Cook, William (Rose) Biebuyck, Mark Biebuyck, Bruce (Lela) Biebuyck, Bonnie (Mark) Matus, Brian (Robin) Biebuyck, Burt (Lisa) Biebuyck, Dolores (Mike) Couch and Brenda (Tim) Bowes; 24 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren (with 2 more on the way). A funeral mass will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Orion Wednesday May 5, 2010 at 11 AM. Friends may visit Lynch & Sons Bossardet Chapel 39 W. Burdick St, Oxford Tuesday from 4-9 PM with a rosary at 7 PM. Memorials may be made to Spina Bifida Association of America.
