Obituary for Sireta P. Neighbors
Sireta P. Neighbors, of Oxford, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on July 9, 2015. She was born to the late Harold and Marguerite Sitzes on August 27, 1935 in White Lake, Michigan. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Bob Neighbors, her six children and their spouses; Cheryl Lynn and her husband Gary Woods, Diane and her husband Ken Fairley, Harold Neighbors, Penny and her husband Daymon Allison, Melanie Neighbors Kremkau, and Jon Neighbors and his wife Lisa, her sister and brother-in-law Carol and Monte Petty, and Sister Betty Carpenter. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Leah, Katherine, Kasi, Lauren, Bobbie, Bobby, and Jacob, and 18 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Sireta enjoyed being involved in many clubs and activities including, two golf leagues, as well as many traveling golf outings. She was a member of The Ruby Rascal Redhatters of Oxford and Lake Orion, and was previously active at the Senior Center of Lake Orion. She also loved to travel and enjoyed a yearly trek to the Kentucky Derby with friends. Other trips included Florida, Arkansas, and Indiana to visit with family and friends along the way. Most recently, she traveled to the Last Frontier, the great State of Alaska, to visit family and sight see on "the trip of a lifetime"! She also devoted many hours to her favorite charity, the Desert Angels of Auburn Hills, MI to honor the US Military. She also loved to crochet, was an avid reader, and had a passion for garage sales!
With all that she was involved in, that was not who she was. Sireta, first and foremost, was a Child of God, devoted Wife, Mother, Grandma, Great Grandma, Daughter, Sister, Aunt and Great Aunt. Her life and her legacy is that of unconditional love. God has received into His Kingdom a most beautiful Angel.
Funeral from Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors, 39 W. Burdick, Oxford, Sunday, July 12, 2015 at 3 PM. Visitation will take place Saturday, July 11th from 3-7 PM and Sunday from 1-3. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Desert Angels of Auburn Hills in Sireta's memory, P.O. Box 210455 - Auburn Hills, MI 48321.
