Ronald G. Fritch, age 83 of Oxford, Michigan, passed away September 15, 2012. Beloved husband of the late Doris L. (Roost) Fritch. Loving father of Dennis (Carrie), Frances (Everrett), Janis (Brian), David (Wanda), Daniel (Michelle) and Bill. Loving grandfather and great-grandfather.
Ron was a lifelong resident of Oxford. He worked with his father moving houses in the area until moving on to the the gravel industries, where he started at Wards Gravel and retired from Michelson’s Gravel.
Ron began a lifelong love story with Doris, and they were married 62 years.
Together they not only enjoyed their family but also music, playing the harmonica and organ (by ear), going to Renfro Valley, and dancing. They enjoyed camping and belonged to a camping group.
Ron enjoyed his Model T and Model A hot rods. After he started his family, he raced go karts.
He then joined in with his cousin, sons, and others and built dune buggies.
When he inherited his father’s moving equipment, his sons joined him in restoring tractors and a dragline. Due to storage space, he went into small wheel horses.
Ron loved to just hop in his truck, “Little Eddie,” and take day trips, sometimes traveling as far as Kentucky.
He loved to tell “stories,” and it usually only took hearing a word or two for him to remember one.
Over the course of his years, he spent many winters in Florida. At one time he stayed in his handmade travel trailer.
Ron was always a warm, compassionate, caring person who will be remembered, cherished and missed by many.
