Obituary for Robert "Bob" Peters

Robert Norman Peters age 63—known to some as “Rob” and to others as “Bob”-- entered this world through a birth gate in Wayne, Michigan, on July 9, 1945, right between VE and VJ Day. His father was Theodore Frank Peters Sr., an automotive engineer and American designer of the Rototiller. His mother was Lillian May Tesch, a high school Valedictorian and homemaker. His elder brother by four years, Theodore Frank Peters, Jr., rode his red tricycle to the hospital to visit Rob on the day of his birth.
The Peters family resided in Dearborn20until 1970, when it moved to Sterling Heights and joined Christ Lutheran Church, with Rev. David Boone as pastor. Rob graduated from high school and entered the U.S. Army, serving on missile command duty in Germany. Bob was most at home in his basement workshop, creating new electrical circuits to make gadgets light up and remote control airplanes to engage in aero-acrobatics. As an electronic technician known to his professional colleagues as “Bob,” he worked for companies in Macomb and Oakland counties such as Control Data Corporation (CDC, later CPI, and still later Centronics), VDO, and finally Denso. After moving to a rural home north of Rochester, Bob began to worship at Leonard Community Church.
He is survived by his devoted brother, Frank; his loving nieces & nephews along with their children; his loving cousins and their respective families; his “virtual” daughter Kathleen Crombez, and by his beloved Yorkshire terrier, Casey.
Friends may visit Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors Bossardet Chapel 39 W. Burdick Street, Oxford Friday March 27, 2009 from 6-8 PM.
