Robert H. Ruch, age 84 of Oxford, passed away on April 30th, 2016. He was born on December 2nd, 1931 in Tippecanoe County, Indiana, the son of James and Eunice Ruch. Bob was a graduate of Pontiac High School, Class of 1950. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Eastern Michigan University and his master’s degree from the University of Michigan. After completing his education, he taught for several years and was a Job Placement Administrator for Pontiac schools. In the 1970’s he was an active member in the Oxford Village Council. Bob was also a man of strong faith and was an Elder at Oakwood Restoration Branch in Ortonville. He was an avid golfer, a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Robert is survived by his wife Bev, of 58 years; his three children, Michael (Lainey), Evelyn (Patrick), and Steven (Stacy); nine grandchildren, Jeff, Scott, Kristine, Chelsea, Tim, Jennie, Christopher, Cody, and Sara; fourteen great grandchildren, Connor, Marissa, Devan, Donna, Dylan, Ethan, Beckett, Cohen, Crosby, Mercedes, Alex, AJ, Isabel, and Emelyn; brother Michael (Mick) Ruch; sisters Dorothy McPherson and Kathy McDaniel; also many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 4th at 11:00 a.m at Oakwood Restoration Branch, 5220 Oakwood Rd, Ortonville, MI 48462. Elder Mick Ruch will be officiating. Friends may visit Tuesday, May 3rd from 12-9 p.m. at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors, 39 W. Burdick St. Oxford, MI 48371. Memorial donations to Oakwood Restoration Branch are greatly appreciated.
