Richard Clark Wilson, age 72, finished his journey here on Earth on January 22, 2022.
He is survived by his daughters, Trinaty Holzgen and Michelle Tomko, his son-in-law Brian Holzgen, his sister-in-law Libby Wilson, and the 3 most important people in his world - his grandsons - Ethan, Brady and Tucker. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 42 years Nanette, his parents George and Mary Jean Wilson, his twin brother Ralph Wilson, his sister Carol, and his best friends of over 50 years Ray & Ellie Macey.
Richard was born on June 2, 1949 in Detroit, Michigan. He graduated from Cass Technical High School in 1967 before enlisting in the United States Navy. He was a gunner's mate aboard the USS LaSalle from 1969-1972. He married the love of his life, Nanette, on March 27, 1971. For over 50 years, Rick designed sprinkler systems for fire protection -his most notable work is the current home of the Detroit Tigers - Comerica Park.
Shortly after losing his wife Nan in 2013, he moved from Oxford to Coopersville, MI. He enjoyed spending most of his time watching his grandsons play baseball, basketball and soccer. He also really loved having Fast and Furious Movie Marathon Weekends with Brady.
Visitation will take place at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors, 29 Burdick, Oxford, MI 48371 on Monday, January 31, 2022 from 10am to 3pm. The funeral service with military honors will begin at 3pm.
Interment at Ridgelawn Cemetery will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to help cover Rick's final expenses through the families GoFundMe.
