Richard (Ric) Heidtman, a resident of Detroit, passed from this life on September 19, 2021 at the age of 73.
Ric was the beloved husband of the late Cynthia and loving father of Shaun (Stefanie). He was the cherished grandfather of Kevin and Alyssa. He was the dear brother-in-law of Gale (Robert) and Janice (Thomas); And also was the adored uncle of Brian (Patricia), Eric (Laurie), Paul, and Jeffery.
Ric will be remembered for being a loving and doting grandfather, always quick to boast of their many achievements and intelligence. He loved spending time with them and was an extremely proud grandfather. Ric loved sports, always ready to talk about football (SOL) or how badly he wanted Michigan to beat OSU. Ric also loved sports cars. He always dreamed of owning a Ferrari or Lamborghini, and while he never fulfilled that dream, he often drove like he was behind the wheel of an Italian supercar.
His spirit was strong, and he was very passionate about the people and things he loved. He never lost his inner child, finding humor in inappropriate jokes, and playing video games until the very end.
Those who knew Ric know he disliked being fussed over and wished for a small, family remembrance, which the family will honor in the near future.
