Marion Eva Ruth Parks, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2012, at Saint Joseph Mercy Oakland in Pontiac at the age of 81. Our beloved mother and grandmother was born on November 10, 1930, in Webberville, Michigan, to Percy H. and Beryl Irene (nee Miller) Daymon and grew up in St. Johns, Michigan. On December 10, 1949, Marion married Douglas Parks in Angola, Indiana. They divorced in 1982. She lived for her children, was a wonderful cook, and loved hosting holiday gatherings for her family. Her homemade pies were a family favorite. She also loved gardening in her yard. A resident of the Oxford area for 39 years, Marion was retired from the Lake Orion Assembly Plant of General Motors.
She leaves six daughters and one son to mourn her loss. She is survived by her children, Sue Ann Stevens of Oxford, Victoria Lee (Willard) Turk of Lapeer, Sandra Kay (Lawrence) Spencer of Brandon, Patricia Lynn Hartwick of Attica, Linda Marie Meshigaud of Oxford, Darwin Douglas Parks McClary of Ferndale, and Cynthia Lynn (Don) Van Gilder of Brandon. Also surviving her are her half-brother, Robert Daymon of Grand Ledge, half-sister Irene Knight, fourteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother Perry Orlan Daymon in 1937, father in 1944, granddaughter Rebecca Sue Brecht in 1972, mother in 1991, half-sister Loretta Marie (Tom) Voige in 1998, and sister Lucille Irene Daymon in 2005. Funeral held on Saturday, March 31, at 11:00 AM at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home – Bossardet Chapel in Oxford, with viewing on March 30 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Interment is at Guardian Angel Cemetery – Angel of Peace Mausoleum in Rochester.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Kidney Foundation.
