Lori Campbell, a hair stylist and salon owner, a life-long resident of Southeast Michigan, died on January 30th, 2022, after a multi-year battle with cancer at the age of 61.
Lori is survived by her husband, Rich Campbell, her children, Meghann McEvoy (Greg McEvoy), Katie Shepler (David Shepler), Jake Campbell (Alicia Campbell); grandchildren, Jack McEvoy, Ben McEvoy, Alex Campbell, Isabella Shepler and Emma Campbell; siblings, Milt Whitmore Jr. and Debbie Locke; and dear friend Gayle Whatley.
Lori was born in Detroit on July 18th, 1960 to Milton and Alice Whitmore. Lori married Rich Campbell, her high school sweetheart, in 1981. In 1983, 1986 and 1990, she welcomed her three children. While raising her children she worked as a hairstylist, eventually opening her own salon, Salon 81.
Lori was a devoted and incredibly loved wife, mother and most importantly Nana. She spent most of her time with her grandchildren, watching sports, playing games or chasing them around. When she wasn’t with one of her five grandchildren, she was either shopping for toys or clothes for them or planning their next adventure together. Her grandchildren were her world, and they all knew how much they meant to Nana.
She enjoyed riding bicycles, her two dogs, traveling with her husband and driving her Mustang on nice days. She took pride in her salon and the clients who became like family over the years.
A memorial service is scheduled for Sunday, February 6th, from 12 - 5 p.m. at Lynch and Sons in Oxford, Michigan. Condolences may be offered at 39 W Burdick St, Oxford, MI 48371.
Celebration of Life will be held on May 21st, 2022 at her home in Metamora, MI.
