Obituary for Lois Roesner

Lois Roesner was born November 28, 1939 as Lois Jane Tuller.

She was a Graduate from Cody High School in Detroit and worked at Burroughs Corporation where she met a handsome man named Larry, who she would marry and who, as a couple, spent the next 60 years together until she was called to the Lord on December 2, 2021 with him by her side at the age of 82. She raised two children and was the best Grandma ever to her 4 Grandchildren.
She was artistic, loved crafts, played numerous instruments and was honored and proud to sing with the Sweet Adelines.

She was a Pioneer who paved the way for the next generation of women by breaking barriers. She was a rebel “leftie” who refused to put the pencil in her right hand. She loved bowling, boating, snowmobiling, horseback riding and boldly stepped into the cockpit to become the first woman inboard hydroplane race pilot, and not only did she compete, she won!

Her Adventures didn’t stop there. Detroit, Berwin Illinois, Coon Rapids Minnesota, Acton Massachusetts, Livonia Michigan, Chalfont Pennsylvania, on a boat on the Sassafras River, Naples Florida and Oxford Michigan were all places she called home and where she was an active member of the community, active in her Church and active with the school.

She enjoyed helping others and was always the first to pitch in. She lead her children by example and provided endless opportunities including Scouts, 4-H Club, horse shows, model rockets and airplanes, motorcycles, snowmobiles, hydroplane races, and abundant hugs.

Burroughs became Sperry which became Unisys, where she retired in 2000 and then took on the next job of being a Grandma with passion and dedication and the unconditional love and unabashed spoiling that only a Grandma can give.
She loved family, her Sisters, Brothers, Aunts and Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, no matter how remote and made you family, whether you were blood or not, and would drop everything to help someone if they needed it.

She passed peacefully into God’s arms while talking to her husband and playing with the remote for her new bed.
Though her physical body had no more to give, her spirit and legacy lives on in those she has given a piece of herself to. Watch over us, guide us, and send us strength. In Love, Husband Larry, Daughter and Son in Love Kallie and Bruce, Son and Daughter in Love Lee and Cindy and Grandchildren Troy, Tyler, Joshua, and Jonnie.
