Lewis Parris, age 84, formerly of Warren, Michigan, passed away at his home in Barton City, Michigan on November 29, 2016. Lewis has been battling health conditions this past year. He was born in Bryson City, NC. Lewis loved to golf, fish, hunt, and feed the bears on his property in Northern Michigan. He loved to hit the road. He was always talking about his next road trip. Lewis served our country during the Korean War, being awarded two Bronze Stars. He retired from General Motors after working at the Chevy Warren Plant and the Detroit gear and Axle Plant.
Lewis is survived by his daughters Donna (Allan) Marshall, Trish (Jim) Mian, Jeannie (Bill) Worley; sons Bob (Sandy) Parris and Bruce (Sherene) Parris. Also survived by 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Parris, and son, Michael Parris.
A funeral service will take place at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors, 39 W. Burdick, Oxford, Sunday, December 4, 2016 at 6 PM with visitation beginning at the funeral home at 3 PM. Pastor Bob Service will be officiating. A graveside service will take place at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy on Monday, December 5th at 3:30 pm.
