Preceded in death by his beloved wife Gertrude Lois and his younger brother Edward. Loving father of Stephen Bouck, James (Betsy) Bouck, Jeffrey (Lindsey) Bouck, William (Linda) Bouck and Linda (Donnie) Harman. Grandfather of Jodi, Jenny, Eric, Evan, Randi, and Kelsey. John served with the 27th Infantry Division in the Pacific Theater during WWII, earning a Purple Heart for military merit. He graduated from Wayne State University in 1948, going on to a career in accounting and sales with General Motors Truck & Coach, where he worked for over 25 years before retiring in 1980. He and Gertrude then retired to the Gulf Coast of Florida, eventually settling in Venice.

John and Gertrude Lois married in their hometown, Grand Ledge, and began their family in Royal Oak. In 1954, they moved the family to the Davisburg/Holly area, establishing a small farm to provide a safe and wholesome environment for their children to grow in. More than anything else, John was defined by an unwaivering devotion to his family. John served the Methodist Church for many years and truly enjoyed farming the land. He encouraged and closely followed his children's progress in academics and other activities as they grew to adulthood.
