John David Baker age 65 of Addison Township, November 7, 2016. John was born in Detroit, Michigan to James Henry Baker and Grace Cook Baker. He graduated from Cooley High School in 1969 and went on to Oregon State University to become a farrier. He moved back to Michigan and pursued his real dream of becoming a designer, a builder, and a craftsman. But he was much more. He was a perfectionist, and a problem solver. His faith with God ran deeper than oceans. He loved classical music, playing golf with his family, and working on projects. His wisdom and deep love that he had to give will be missed. He is survived by his wife, Lora Pilling Baker; his sons, Jeffrey Barrett Baker, Stephen Schmitt and the late Darrin Micheal Baker of Omaha Nebraska and James Craig Baker; his daughter, Victoria Jean Baker; his granddaughter, Chloe Jean Welch; and his sister, Alice Baker.
A memorial service will take place on Saturday November 12, 2016 at 11 AM at St. Augustine's Lutheran Monastery and Retreat House, 3316 Drahner Rd, Oxford. A luncheon will be held immediately following the service. Arrangements for cremation entrusted to Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors, Oxford.
