Jean E. Pike (Nee. Carson), age 87 of Ortonville, passed away May 10, 2015. Born April 4, 1928 to Paul C. Carson and Emma Tuttle Carson in Bernie, MO. Loving wife of Raymond A. Pike for 67 years. Beloved mother of Randall (Jeannie) Pike, Greg Pike, B. Scott (Lori) Pike, Laurel (John) Dancoe, Steve (Brenda) Pike. Cherished grandmother of 8; Amy (Scott) Manns, Justin Pike (& fiancé Jackie Knapp), Emily (John) Mesch, John Dancoe, Shelby (Josh) Lindsay, Gabe Pike, Jake Pike and Anna Pike. Adoring great-grandmother of 2; Savannah Lindsay and Connor Lindsay (and one on the way). Loving sister of Michael Carson of Florida.
Jean was a Christian from childhood and a member of the Free Methodist Church from the time of her marriage, where she was the church organist and a Sunday school teacher for about 40 years. She loved her family, music, reading, travel, word puzzles, gardening and birds. Jean was also an accomplished seamstress and a knowledgeable collector of Depression Glass among other things.
She was loved by many for her good nature, intelligence, humor and exceptional kindness and compassion.
Funeral from the Oxford Free Methodist Church, 790 S. Lapeer Rd, Oxford, Friday, May 15, 2015 at 11 AM with visitation beginning at the church at 10 AM. Interment North Oxford Cemetery, Oxford. Visitation will take place at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors, 39 W. Burdick, Oxford, Thursday, May 14th from 3-8 PM. memorials may be made to the Oxford Free Methodist Church.
