Obituary for Gail Newton

Gail Lorraine (Esser) Newton, age 65, of Oxford Michigan, formerly a long-time resident of Centennial, CO passed peacefully May 26th 2019 surrounded by family.

Gail was born on February 13th 1954 in Killeen, Texas. Gail graduated from Englewood High School in 1972. Gail married the love of her life, Forrest Benedict Newton in 1979. The couple settled in Centennial, Colorado where they raised their daughter Andrea until moving to Oxford, Michigan in 2014.

Gail spent nearly 60 years in Colorado before relocating to Michigan 5 years ago to be closer to her daughter. Gail was a talented seamstress and voracious reader. She worked at an autism community store crafting toys & necessities for families, teachers & therapists of kids with autism or special needs before retiring.

Gail was a devoted and loving mother. She was very proud of her family and rededicated her time to care for her grandson Louis. Gail cherished her time with Louis and any chance to spend time with him was important to her. She also cared for her 7 step grandchildren. Gail was known for her sweet, sensitive personality. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

She leaves as her legacy one child and two step children: Andrea Cockell (Nicholas), Kelli Davis (J. Charles), and Gerald Newton (Terri). She also leaves to cherish her memory one grandchild (Louis) and seven step grandchildren, four step great-grandchildren, and two siblings. She was preceded in death by Beverly Trumble, (mother) and Henry Esser, (father).

Burial on Wednesday, July 17 at 11:00am at Foothills Gardens of Memory, 14241 N 107th St, Longmont CO 80504. Memorial Mass on Saturday, July 20 at 11:00am at Guardian Angels Catholic Church (the old church), 109 3rd St, Mead CO 80542. The family requests that donations be made to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network at www.pancan.org/donate. The family would also like to thank Dr. Philip Philip & the Karmanos Cancer Institute for their commitment & compassion.

Arrangements for cremation entrusted to Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors, Oxford.
