Obituary for Elmer Kenneth Freeman Jr.

Elmer “Kenny” Freeman Jr. passed away Sunday October 29th at the age of 83 in Pontiac, Michigan. He was born August 1, 1934 in Detroit to Elmer K. Freeman Sr. and Elsie Freeman (Breen). He lived a long, interesting and fulfilling life.

Ken enjoyed many things throughout his life including riding his motorcycle, hanging out with his family and friends, NASCAR, snowmobiling, boating and building a very successful business. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He always liked to stay on the move and traveled throughout his life and split his time between Michigan and his winter home in Fort Myers, Florida.

Ken was a 60 year member of the Detroit Renegades Motorcycle Club and was an active member until his death.

He will be remembered as a very unique man, generous and loyal, stubborn and opinionated. He loved his family and friends unconditionally. He will be greatly missed by those of us lucky enough to know him as a father, a grandfather and as a friend.

He is survived by his children: Teresa Carr, Kenneth (Mindy) Freeman, Tami (Jim) Thuenick; 9 grandchildren: David (Erica) Vickers, Rachel, Neal, Emily, and Dean Carr, Lauren Freeman, Cody Gibson, Wilson and Katy Thuenick; 3 great-grandchildren: Reagan, Haley and Jazlynn; sister: Joann Beard and countless friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Per his wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will take place at a later date. Interment will be at Roselawn Cemetery in Berkley, Michigan.
