Eleanor G. Skibowski, of Oxford, MI, passed away January 22, 2015. She was born on September 1, 1927, in Detroit, MI and lived in Ontario, Canada until she was 11 years old. Eleanor moved from Canada to Lake Orion, MI after marrying Fred Skibowski, Jr, and resided in Oxford, MI. She was married almost fifty years to Fred Skibowski, Jr with whom she had a beautiful daughter Deborah, four beautiful grandchildren, Heather, Michele, Ashley and Christie, and two great grandchildren Olivia and Ella Rose.
Eleanor retired from General Motors after thirty years of devoted service. She was manager of Office Automotive Centers at GMC in Pontiac, MI, completing her career.
Eleanor loved traveling, boating and most of all spending time at her Higgins Lake cottage with her grandchildren, many friends and her loving dog, Milo.
Eleanor is survived by her daughter, Deborah Zanardo and Son-in-Law, Darryl Zanardo of Tucson, AZ. Sister, Bernice Carson of West Bloomfield. Grandchildren, Heather Bailey-Fischer of New York, Dr. Michele Bailey-Blumberg and husband Jason Blumberg of Chicago, Ashley Saunders of Louisville, KY and Christie Valente and husband David Valente of Rochester Hills.
Elli will be clearly missed by all whose lives were touched with her kindness and bubbly, fun-loving spirit.
A celebration of life memorial service will take place at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors, 39 W. Burdick, Oxford, on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 4 PM with visitation beginning at 2 PM. She will be buried at Christian Memorial Cemetery in Rochester, MI, next to her husband Fred Skibowski, Jr.
For her love of family, friends and animals, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or Humane Society of Macomb.
