Obituary for Edward Ralph Lund

Edward Ralph Lund, age 66, a 40 year resident of Oxford who also spent much of the last 33 years on Drummond Island, died October 18, 2010. He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years Adelle; his loving sons Michael, Patrick and Eric; and his mother Sigrid.

He is also survived by seven siblings: Robert (Janice), Arthur (Carlene), Katheryn (Al) Schunke, Mary (Tom) Hascall, Ruth (Larry) Macha, Donald (Linda) and Ann (Donald) Kendall; as well as by many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

Edward was preceded in death by his father, Wilho and his brother, John.

Edward was a veteran of the United States Army who served in Vietnam in 1966 and 1967 in the 101st Airborne Division known as the "Screaming Eagles" where he was a paratrooper. Later in life he built his home on Drummond island from scratch. He always enjoyed working with his hands, as well as photography, woodworking, fishing, being on the water and being outdoors.

Funeral from Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors Bossardet Chapel 39 W. Burdick, Oxford Thursday October 21, 2010 at 11 AM. Friends may visit Wednesday October 20 from 2-8 PM. Memorials may be made to Oxford/Orion FISH or the Michigan Humane Society.
