Donna Barr of Oxford, formerly of Lake Orion, entered life July 16, 1935 and entered eternal life November 17, 2010. Her husband, Earl Barr, preceded her in death as did her parents and two older brothers David Dalton Bryce and Kenneth Bryce Jr. David Bryce died in Europe in World War II. Donna's mother Betty (Miller) Bryce once served as the National President of the Gold Star Mothers.

Following graduation from Central Michigan University with a degree in Music Donna taught at an elementary school in ST. Clair Shores for several years. She moved to Lake Orion when she and her husband were married and became a dedicated volunteer. For more than twenty years she and her friend Lucille Petroni faithfully served at the Columbiere Jesuit Community in Clarkston and when they arrived they were regularly greeted by the retired priests that lived there, "Must be Wednesday because Donna and Lucille are here."

Donna was involved with the Orion Veterans Memorial from its beginning and maintained all the rcords for a number of years. As a volunteer at the Orion Senior Center she taught computer and ceramic classes. For the past decade Donna served at St. Augustine's House as the organist for the Sunday 10 AM service and was an Associate Member (Oblate). She was known for her love of animals, especially cats, and during her life adopted many stray animals.

Lynch and Sons Bossardet Chapel handled arrangements for her funeral which was held Saturday November 20 at St. Augustine's House Lutheran Monastery on Drahner Rd in Oxford. Father Richard Herbel served as the Officiant for the service and she was buried in the cemetery next to the monastery chapel. Memorials may be made to St. Augustine's House, P.O.
