Obituary for Dale Allen

Dale Clair Allen, age 85, of Oxford. Born June 25, 1932, died September 27, 2017. Preceded in death by his son Michael and loving wife Carol Allen. Survived by children Marlon (Grace) Allen, Steve Allen, Matthew (Shelley) Allen, Sherman Allen, Kelly Allen, Karen Allen, Loren (Vicki) Allen. Also survived by his grandchildren: Amy, Matthew, Jacob, Joshua, Jessica, Michael, Sarah, Michelle, Kassie, Nicole, and Justin. He has 7 great grandchildren: Melody, Melia, Ava, Steven, Abram, LaRon, and Lucian. Dale enjoyed taking long road trips with his wife and playing shuffle board. He spent many years coaching little league baseball and adult softball with many winning seasons. He was proud to have served in the United States Army. He was the recipient of several medals of Honor for his acts of bravery while on active duty in the Korean War. Dale felt that he and his wife's greatest accomplishment was raising their eight children.

Funeral from Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors, 39 W. Burdick, Oxford, Monday, October 2, 2017 at 11 AM with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Pastor Bob Holt officiating. Interment at Ridgelawn Cemetery, Oxford. Visitation will take place Sunday, October 1, 2017 from 1-8 PM.
