Charles W. Grant, born January 1, 1925 in Lapeer, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Jun 22, 2009. He is survived by his wife Margaret, daughter Susan (Chet) Sadler, sister Alice Bingner, grandsons Grant (Shelley) Sadler, Sam and Peter Sadler and great grandsons Oliver and Finn; step children Richard (Kate) Rossier, Carol (Dave) Bradford and Anne Rossier; grandchildren Colleen and Tim Rossier and Taylor and Morgan Bradford.
Charlie led and adventurous life having played trumpet in the traveling “Big Bands”; he served as under sheriff in Lapeer County and was an advertising sales executive with Veseley Company in Lapeer.
Charlie was an avid sailor. He and Margaret spent happy days sailing aboard his boat “Boomchuck.” Charlie was very well liked by everyone who met him and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday July 11th at Lynch & Sons Bossardet Chapel, 39 W. Burdick, Oxford with friends and family gathering at the funeral home starting at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, St. John Hospice, or any cancer or hospice organization of your choice.
