Obituary for Barbara Sue Finch

Barbara Sue Finch of Dryden Michigan, age 69, born June 26, 1952, in McComb, MS, unexpectedly passed away on April 16, 2022, at her home in Dryden, Michigan.

Barbara grew up in McComb, MS where she met her future husband Jim, an enlisted air force NCO. They fell in love, married, and started a family. Devoted to their family and future Barbara and Jim moved to Florida. Barbara worked endlessly supporting Jim and the family for a better future. Jim graduated college and his service commitment moved them around the country, from Virginia to Texas where they welcomed a son to world and shortly after moved their family to Michigan.

A devoted fun-loving wife, mother and grandmother Barbara had a passion for family, animals, and everything Halloween. Barbara was an avid antique collector and turned her hobby into a life career. She owned and operated the Romeo Antique Mall from 1994 – 2008 in Romeo, Michigan and Oxford, Michigan.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Mr. Jim Finch, her three children, daughter Susan Marie (Matt) Blackburn, daughter Rebecca Jane (Marc) Howell, son Justin Finch, two grandchildren that she loved and cherished, Blakeley and Branch Powe, loving aunts Ludie Whittington, Elaine Falcon, sister in-law Dawn Wright and three nephews, David Henry, Johnny, and Eric, many special cousins, Danny Oquinn, Lanita, Carolyn, Margaret, Michael, Katherine, Elizabeth, Hilda, Dianne, James Ray, David, Sheila and Anita.

Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Francis Fay and John David Forrest, older brother John and younger brother David, loving aunts Mavis (Toxic) Lowe, Ms. Mary (Ray) Boyd. Betty (R.D.) Strickland, Rachel (Walter) Smith and uncle Clint (Annie Lee) Forrest.

Graveside service will be held in McComb, MS at the Hollywood Cemetery, at future date to be determined.

The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations be made to any of these associations: The American Heart Association, Gift of Life of Michigan, Seven Ponds Nature Center or The Arbor Day Foundation.
