ANNETTE MARIE NEESON of Boulder, Colorado went home to be with the Lord February 13, 2019. She was 63. Preceded in death by her dear parents, Vern and Margaret Neeson, and beloved sister, Jane Neeson Gasaway. She was the loving sister of Theresa (James) Bologna, Vern (Deborah) Neeson Jr. and Joseph (Paula) Neeson. Also survived by nieces and nephews: Nicholas (Maryann) Gasaway, Alton, Aaron and Jared Barnett, Andrew (Shana) Neeson, Edward (Andrea) Neeson, Ben and Catherine Cole, Molly Neeson and nine great-nieces and nephews. Also survived by her lifetime companion and constant support, Albert Stuart.
Annette grew up in her hometown of Oxford. She attended St. Joseph Catholic School and graduated in 1974 from Oxford High where her wonderful art teachers inspired her to pursue her dream of becoming an artist. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Central Michigan University and did her graduate studies at the University of Colorado-Boulder. A quiet and gentle soul, Annette enjoyed many years exploring the foothills, trails, woods and streams of the beautiful Boulder, Rocky Mountain area. As an accomplished artist, she worked in various media including oils, watercolors, charcoal, beadwork and more. She was an avid volunteer supporter of the Boulder Art Center, winning them grant funding and recognition as volunteer of the year. She retired from the Daily Camera newspaper in Boulder. In her retirement, she read reports from the newspaper on a local radio station for their blind listeners. Annette boarded the Amtrak train for her annual visits to Michigan, immensely enjoying the “rhythm of the rails.” One of her favorite destinations was the Detroit Institute of Arts along with her nephew Jared…they were kindred spirits.
